From April through November, City residents can request curbside collection for a properly prepared brush pile of up to 2 cubic yards—about the size of a couch.
Prepare the pile before requesting pickup
- Keep the entire pile at or below 2 cubic yards, roughly the size of a couch.
- Cut every branch to 4 feet or shorter.
- Branches must be 6 inches or less in diameter.
- Place the pile between the curb and sidewalk, or at the alley collection point.
- Keep brush separate from leaves, garbage, and other material.
When curbside pickup is available
Brush pickup is available by request from April through November. Submit the request after the pile is prepared, or call 414-286-CITY (2489).
From December through March, take brush to a City Drop-Off Center instead.
What counts as brush
Brush means woody trimmings and branches from trees or shrubs. Grass clippings, loose leaves, weeds, and other garden debris follow different rules.
