Privacy and data use
MKEstuff uses information to run its tools and understand basic site usage. I don’t sell your data.

Who receives information
- Google Analytics
Page views, the page you came from, basic device information, and page URLs. A URL can include a search or an address, such as /collections/?q=. My Milwaukee keeps its address after the # in the URL, and browsers don’t send that part to Analytics. When a site search finds nothing, the search words are sent so I can see which guides are missing. Tools also report what kind of thing happened, such as “address found,” “no match,” a ticket type, a filter, or a calendar download, so I can see what’s useful. They never send the address, search words, or dates you enter.
Every page view, unless your browser blocks it.
- City of Milwaukee collection schedule service
The house number and street you enter.
When you look up collection days on Collection days or My Milwaukee.
- City of Milwaukee map services
The address you enter, then the map point it matches, to find your aldermanic district, ward, polling place, and police district.
When you look up an address on My Milwaukee.
- Map image providers: OpenStreetMap, with CARTO as a backup
Normal requests for the map images you view, which show the area on screen and your IP address.
When a page shows a map.
- Google Maps
The destination you chose.
Only when you open a Directions link.
Saved in your browser
These stay on your device. I can’t see them. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.
- Your remembered address
Saved only when you check “Remember this address on this device.” Uncheck it to remove the address.
- Your My Milwaukee card choices
Saved when you turn dashboard cards on or off, so the page opens the same way next time.
What MKEstuff doesn’t do
- No accounts or sign-ins.
- No advertising scripts.
- No AI services receive what you type.
- Your location is used only when you choose “Use my location,” and this site doesn’t save it.
